Owls close week one still at 0-0 as the get an early rest. PGCC has also been very active in the recruiting field, as they know they are going to have to buff up this team a lot just to compete in the sun belt. I am highly interested in our top recruit Runningback Willie Patrick out of Philadelphia, PA. He is very talented, he needs good coaching, but he has lots of potential. He is a sub par open field running, but he is tough in the trenches. Hopefully he makes the right decision and joins the Owls.
This week in the sunbelt conference there was lots of action, Mid Tenn State stood tall but later fell to the Golden Gophers of Minnesota 20-34. Troy's offense strikes gold against Bowling Green, putting up a whopping .45 points and winning the game 45-24. Georgia destroying UL Lafayette 30-3, UAB defeated Florida Atlantic 27-10, Auburn dismantled Arkansas State 37-7 in a obvious mismatch. And last but not least, North Texas put up one hell of a fight, and a close call against Clemson, with the final being 13-7. The mean green had the tigers up 7-3 at halftime, but only to not put any more points up on the board for the rest of the game. It seamed as tho their offense just could not pass the 50 after that one drive.
That's it for week 1, as it is in the books..see you next week in Wyoming, as the Owls take on the Cowboys of Wyoming. In which the owls seem to have the advantage following Wyoming's previous loss in week 1 to the FCS Northwest 20, 17. Now that is a tough one to take. Hopefully our boys will pull through and get win #1 in try #1.
