Week 2 is a scare for the Owls.

Week 2 is in the books and the Owls are lucky to leave Wyoming with a victory. PGCC's starting QB Ben Burch. He threw an astounding 5 INTS!! Some Qb's don't throw 5 INT's in the first 5 games, some may get lucky and wont throw 5 a whole season. This young Qb has a lot to learn, and he has little time. I was impressed by our running game, our running backs were tearing through the holes for big gains, they were taking mediocre blocking at best, and turning them into big gains.

Now onto our defense, Bend but don't break must be the motto. They did give up many yards, but they came up with a key interception return in the second half which may have put the game away for good. They need to practice their tackling because it was horrible, but I believe many of our points this season, will have to be scored on special teams. AND HOW ABOUT THOSE SPECIAL TEAMS? 95 Yard Kick return by offensive playmaker O'Brien. That's a NCAA record, in his first game, O'Brien set a NCAA record, now that is astounding.

Hopefully our offense can get it going, and get some quality drives going so our defense does not have so much pressure late in the game like they did this game. Hopefully our QB gets his act together, or the fans will demand a change sooner rather than later.

Hopefully our defense will stand tall again against Hawaii in game two of our short season.
