The next Heisman Winner?
#6 Paul Johnson 6'2" 194 LBS, Freshman Quarterback, Prince Georges Community College Owls.Quarterback Rating of 170.2 115 Completions, 224 Attempts. 2,261 Passing yards 28 Passing TD's. 282.6 Passing Yards per game. 80 Rushing Attempts, 548 Rushing Yards, 9 Rushing TD's, Longest Rush 70 yards, 9 rushes for more than 20 Yards.
So far, at week 10 it has been "that" type of season for Paul Johnson. He has put up miraculous numbers, and he has high talks as the First Heisman in SunBelt history. He is only a freshman and he is putting up these numbers, imagine that, a Freshman Heisman. A young kid, who just graduated high school, not to long ago, is taking the Heisman Trophy away from these sophomores, juniors and most importantly, seniors who are graduating, and going off to the NFL. This guy, who has only been in college for a couple months, not even a year, a guy who is probably taking introductory classes at school, but is introducing himself on the football field. A guy who still does not know where to go, and is asking people how to find this, or where to find that, and is finding numerous amount of receivers in the endzone, and finding himself in the endzone all the time. Paul Johnson, folks, is 18 years old. He has the chance of becoming the face of the SunBelt conference, the face of the NCAA, and he has the chance to earn the most prestigious award in NCAA History, the Heisman Trophy.

Catching up with the Owls in week 10 Year 5.
Ok readers, it's time to catch back up with those Owls, and get a preview of the end of this season as mostly all of my important games have been played. Lets first start with my non-conference games, which are always great games, against great teams.
First off, #9 Florida, who we took on in week 2. After being down 21-3 in the second quarter the Gators miracilously made a game out of this and defeated us 52-41. It was a tough one to swallow, after our two freshman runningbacks both fumbled twice today. Also our team was horrible in the second half, and was unable to finish this game and put away the Gators, but that is expected when 17 of your starters on both offense and defense, are freshman.
We did finally have some success in the top 25 after defeating the Alabama Crimson Tide 42-41 in overtime. Alabama, who came into this game losing 2 straight games had to save their National Title hopes, and mostly their season. It seemed that the Tide were bound to rebounding their season after a unbelievble 4th quarter, in which both teams combined for 28 points. After blocking a PGCC game winning field goal at the end of the game, the Crimson Tide took the ball up the field with no problem on the tired Owls defense, and score the first touchdown in the overtime. But their kicker, who had missed 2 previous field goals, and 1 extra point, pretty much botched another and the Tide were unable to pick up the extra point. Now with the Owls knowing the first part of winning this game was scoring a TD on a defense which had been specacular all game long, they also had the pressure of a 3 yard extra point kick to think about. The owls, after 7 plays finally got the ball in the endzone with 8 yard scamper by Freshman QB, and Heisman candidate leader Paul Johnson. 5 seconds later, the Owls, put the extra point through the uprights, and celebrated yet another defeat of Alabama, in Alabama, and the Crimson Tide suffered their 3rd straight loss.
Next up was former #2 LSU, now #1 LSU, as they had the chance to do what the Crimson Tide didn't, and that was to stop the Owls from gaining yet again, the end of the season momentum. But the Tigers at home, were not good enough to stop this unbelievable Freshman QB Paul Johnson, as he tore their defense apart, running and passing. Also our defense was a big part in winning this game, picking off their QB L.Butler 3 times, returning 1 for a TD, and not giving up any passing TD's. The Owls biggest stand was in the 4th quarter, right after they threw a pick at their own 43, they nailed Butler yet again, and intercepted the ball and later chewed the rest of the clock and took yet another victory.
Next up the now ranked Owls took on their SunBelt foe, University of UL Monroe Warhawks, decimating them 77-0. It was over before the second quarter as the Owls were up 28-0. This was a no contest as the Owls offense completely destroyed the Warhawks weak defense everytime they touched the ball. Starting QB P.Johnson had a passer rating of 217.5 for 164 yards and 4 TD's. After the starters were taken out at the end of the second quarter, backup runningback B.Wood was able to show his skills as he took the Warhawk defense to hell and back, racking up 117 BIG ONES and 4 TD's, taking the load off of freshman sensation Anthony "Jolt" Freeman who was hurt with a bruised shoulder. Freeman sat out both games against Alabama and LSU, but he just had to get in this game racking up 77 yards and 1 TD.
Next up for the Owls is Sunbelt opponent FAU as they come to Largo with hopes of knocking off the Owls. DOUBT IT!!!!

Owls enter this season, young, and with lots of holes to fill.
The owls, have re-amped their depth chart with some freshman and sophomore starters, but that is not so dandy when 89 percent of your starters, are either freshman, or sophomores with less that 1 season of playtime.
The offense is lead by freshman QB Paul Johnson who they used to replace last years QB Jonathan Johnson, who struggled to move the ball. P. Johnson brings talent, and leadership to our offense, and his play will determine if we win.
The Owls also have 5 new Freshman runningbacks, and with 3 in the top 3 of the depth chart, you know their is going to be a lot of fumbles, bad plays, and tough coaching ahead. But everybody is looking for Anthony Freeman, "Jolt" to really carve up a couple of defenses with his outstanding 4.29 speed. This guy is blistering fast, and he will have no problem running through, around, and over our Sun Belt defenses.
Then comes the our receiving core, who will be lead by Freshman Doug Brown, and Sophomore Melvin Thompson, who was last years favorite target catching a tide team high 36 passes for 663 yards and 5 TD's. He was tide in receiving with offensive powerhouse Tight End, Rasheed Scott, who was involved on numerous amount of big catches, who also caught 36 passes, for 808 yards and 5 TD's. I think those two are going to be a very important part, in developing our young QB into the start A.Daniels knows he is.
But the biggest problem this team has, is the offensive line. Now our new QB is lighting quick, and he can avoid the rush with his feet, but will his offensive line be able to at least give him the chance to drop back and scan the field for a mere 3 seconds before he is getting harassed? I don't think so. And that is because our big uglys on the offensive side are very sloppy. Lead by Center Joe Massey, which group of Juniors and Sophomores are going to have to pull it together and work hard to stop, the worst of defensive lines this year. But I still blame the recruiting, for not preparing our team with a good offensive line.
Next comes our sub-par defensive line. Lead by backup Junior Defensive Tackle and All-American Brandon Smith who had 6 sacks last year. But he takes on a new role, as backup because of freshman sensation B.J. Coe. Coe, one of the nations top DT's will take the starting job and he will be heavily assisted by DE Charlie Gipson another Freshman. These two will wreak havoc on opposing QB's all game long.
Then they are assisted by our top notch, athletic and lightning quick, Linebacking core. Seth Brown, Frank Tyler, Kirk Morgan, and Impact player Sam Jones are expected to sack, rattle, and hurt the opposing quarterback, and also pick him off. These guys are quick, on their feet, and in their recognition skills, they are a bend but don't break group, and have the potential to really make some great plays.
Then their is our secondary, which holds 7 of our teams freshman. 4 of them starters. This is the weak link on our defense, and we have a big chance of giving up a lot of passing yards, and big scoring opportunities with so many young guys on the defensive side of the ball. These guys, are inexperienced, talented, but they do not know what is coming when they face teams like Florida, Alabama, LSU, or even, our SunBelt opponents.
Even our starting Punter and Kicker are freshman, which will lead to some, unfinished drives.
In other words, we are a young football team, who has the chance to really blossom in the next two years, and be a powerhouse 3 years from now, but that is then, this is now, and we need wins now.

Sorry Readers
The PGCC blog has been down for a while, since the Penn State game, but I will have updates on that game, the rest of the 012 season, and the 013 season. To sum it up a little, in the 012 season, the PGCC Owls, took on the Utah Utes in the BCS National Title game, and loss by 14. And it year 013 we went to the rose bowl, to take on USC, we won by 21.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but we will continue the blog vs #9 Miami. 2014, season 5.

Next up, Penn State Nittanly Lions.
WILL THE OWLS BE ABLE TO HANDLE THE PRESSURE OF BEING YELLED AT BY SCREAMING NITTANY LION FANS ALL GAME?
The Owls travel this week to Penn State to take on the Nittany Lions, in what I think we be their toughest bout yet. Will the be able to handle the pressure of playing a big team, at their big stadium? We are surely going to find out as Ben Burch and his Owls offense prepare to do battle with the Nittany Lions. The Owls have the chance of doing something no other college team has ever done, and that is beat the #1, #2, and #3 teams all in the same season, and possible they #4 with Ohio State at the end. Wow..WHAT A GREAT SEASON SO FAR..WE HAVE CHANGED THE FACE OF THE NCAA WITH OUR TO BIG WINS.

#1 Alabama, Dethroned. 17-9
WELCOME TO MACARTHUR DANIELS FIELD, where the fans are stunning, THEY WERE TO LOUD TO BE OVERCOME BY THE ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE.
The Owls defense, hold through, not giving up a touchdown but 3 field goals by a awesome kicker who put through a 58 yard kick in the first. The Owls, who dominated the trenches nearly 90% of the game really made some key plays in the 4th quarter. From Washington's key game ending red zone interception in the 4th, to our defensive line crushing Heisman winner Fred Kent on Alabama's last possession. Our guys just proved they wanted this more, and crushing the spirits of the Alabama sideline and sending the Crimson Tide back to Bryant-Denny Stadium 0-1.
The Owls had another sub par game on offense, and seem to run a little better when Ray Sowell is in the game instead of Mike Patterson. I don't know why, but I know Mike Patterson is a great back, I really do, but don't you guys think Ray Sowell is just a lot better? I mean, he has more yards than Mike, he stretches defenses to where they are waiting for the run, because they just know it's about to come right at them, and we play fake and throw one deep for our speedy receivers. With Mike Patterson, we cannot play fake as often, because he does not fit our aggressive outside, and elusive running style. He likes to make plays on his own and we just don't run like that. Our runningbacks follow blocks, and wait for a whole to open up, and then turn on the jets. Speaking of jets, he does not even have the jets to break open, lets say a 80 yard gain, like Ray Sowell can. I like the kid, I really do, but he just does not get the job done like R.Sowell.
But how about the effort from our defense? It seemed that they were in the Quarterbacks face all game long, and this guy is a Heisman candidate? I cannot even believe he won the Heisman with the numbers he put up against us. Heisman is supposed to be the best player in the country, this guy surely was not that. I mean, he didn't turn the ball over, but he didn't produce, and it is a Quarterbacks job to produce. This guy failed to produce, Ben Burch looked more of a Heisman QB to me if I might add.

Owls want Alabama, to prove to them why they are #1

Bama Coach |
In one of this week's press confronces, Owls coach Arthur Daniels told reporters, that he has never seen the Alabama Crimson Tide play. Probably because his team is in the Sun Belt conference, and they shy away from television games. But coach Daniels says that the Alabama Crimson Tide "do not install fear into his heart, in fact no team in the NCAA installs fear into my hear", said coach Daniels. "Like I said last week, we believe that we are the #1 team, and we plan on proving that this week, against the self-proclaimed #1 Alabama Crimson Tide."
Well coach, there's a few problems with your statement......, first, the Alabama Crimson Tide are not the "self-proclaimed" best team in the nation, they are the best team in the nation. They earned that right just as your team has earned the right to be called the #24 best team in the nation.
This just adds nothing but fuel for this weeks game, #1 Alabama, against #24 PGCC Owls, in Largo, Maryland. Will the Owls do as they say and "Scramble the Polls" or will the Crimson Tide of Alabama put this small time school in its place?
UNRANKED OWLS DEFEAT #3 LSU TIGERS 38-21
The Owls, who are on their road to history knock off their biggest win in school history. The Owls who looked pretty rusty in the first quarter, finally got the job done, like they always do in the second. Scoring 17 straight, and going up by 3 at halftime, it seemed imminent that the Owls were going to pull off the upset.
It was a very seasaw battle at first, but the Owls prevailed and won this game. They knock off the highest opponent in the top 25 in school history, as they begin their season off on the right end. Coach Arthur Daniels had this to say after the game. "We came in here today, not looking to beat a top 25 team, not looking to wow the nation, but to earn it's respect. These kids fight hard, each and every week, each and every practice, each and every game, each and every play, and they deserve some accolades. Now we may not be the best team on paper, but when it comes down to stepping on that field, I don't see another team who can beat us. Our guys, trust and believe that they can not only win, but win by large margins, and beat the best of the best teams. Our kids think...............no they KNOW they can beat teams like ALABAMA, PENN STATE, and OHIO STATE, because in our minds, in our heads, WE ARE THE #1 TEAM IN THE COUNTRY."
After defeating the LSU Tigers 38-21, they may not be the best team in the nation, but they have the chance of beating the best team in the nation next week as they face Alabama. The Owls are on a impressive run, defeating #10 Oklahoma last year in the Fiesta bowl, and this year defeating formally known as #3 LSU. But can they continue their big game success against the best team in the country...the Alabama Crimson Tide?

Sowell puts Owls up by 17 with 1:30 to go.
Ray Sowell, All-American Runningback, now backing up what many are calling the best player in PGCC history, just ran pass 100 yards, and ran his team to victory. But you never know in the NCAA, its not over until 00:00. But Ray Sowell, may have just put LSU away.
Owls head into first game excited.
As the Owls start the season off at home, the question is will they be able to make it to conference play with a win in the record book? They play LSU, ALABAMA, and PENN STATE, the top 3 schools in the nation.
First up LSU, and hopefully the Owls are ready, for the tough road ahead.

T.O. Turns in his #81, for good.
T.O, one of the most interesting characters to ever put on a NFL jersey. If it wasn't from his historic days in San Fransico or his Super Bowl run with the Eagles, he has always been a prolific wide receiver. He has always had the media follow him, but that is what stars do. I know people hate T.O. and maybe sometimes T.O. hates T.O. but I am proud of T.O. and I hope whatever he does in the future, he stays the same T.O. If it wasent from his run with the Cowboys, or the Bengals, he was always successful, always making big plays. I am honored to do this report on Terrell Owens, one of the best WR to ever put on a NFL uniform.
FAVRE RETIRES, AGAIN.
Another Brett Favre press conference, another Brett Favre retirement notification, but this time it looks final. Brett Favre, Brad Childress and the Vikings owner all on the podium to announce the retirement of future Hall of Famer, Brett Favre. Favre who is 40 years old, said, "It was a great run, I enjoyed it, I made it to the Super Bowl, I just could not win it. If I ever get another chance to go back to the Super Bowl, it will either be as a coach, or a fan."
Imagine that, Brett Favre, Head Coach of your team. That's kind of amazing and I hope Favre does go into coaching, because he can coach at 70, or 80 years old and does not need to retire 3 times to call it quits.
But it all respect, I have enjoyed the 20 years that Brett Favre has given to the NFL, and all the fans do. Hate him or not, everybody knows that they deep down inside, love seeing Brett Favre play. So long #4.
Offseason.
Jets cap of the season with a Super Bowl victory, but their are a lot of questions on their future. Are they planning to spend lots of money to resign big names like Antonio Cromartie, David Harris, Nick Mangold, Braylon Edwards, and Santonio Holmes? We just need to pray and hope everything comes together.
JETS WIN, JETS WIN, JETS WIN, JETS WIN!!!
IT'S OFFICIAL, THE NEW YORK JETS ARE THE SUPER BOWL CHAMPS OF THE 2010-2011 SEASON. WHAT A GREAT SEASON, WHAT A GREAT RUN, AND WE DID IT AGAINST THE QB WHO COULD NOT GET US THERE, WITH THE QB WHO NOBODY THOUGHT WHO COULD. YES YES YES YES YES YES, THE NEW YORK JETS ARE SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS AGAIN. LET ME REPEAT THAT, THE NEW YORK JETS, THE GREEN AND WHITE FOOTBALL TEAM OF NEW YORK ARE SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS!!
The game MVP was Shonn Greene, who really ran his heart out. 23 rushes, 211 yards and 3 TD's. And our defense really put a good effort to stop Brett Favre, but this is the super bowl and it was almost impossible to stop one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. After having the Vikings up 28-0 in the first half, it seemed almost impossible for Favre to help bring his Vikings back. But knowing Brett Favre he did, scoring 21 straight points, and then tying the game at the end of the third quarter, it seemed the Vikings were going to pull off the upset. But thanks to 2 Darrelle Revis interceptions, the Jets got back on track and scored two straight touchdowns, one on a Santonio Holmes punt return. After that the Vikings were only able to put up a field goal as the Jets continued to score touchdowns, finally ending their total to 49. The final was 49-31 and it was one hell of a game. Both teams deserve to acknowledge for their great performances, but I'm happy to help crown the New York Jets, and Rex Ryan, SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS!!

Jets Vs Vikings Super Bowl, SUN FEB, 6 9:00 PM Dallas, Texas.
Jets Super Bowl Bound
Jets defeat Chargers and Steelers to head to their second Super Bowl in team history to take on former QB Brett Favre and the Vikings. It ought to be a great fight, as these two teams battle for the NFL Title
Rex Ryan says, "Don't expect anybody to get a win on us, with our crowd behind us"
Everybody in the NFL knows Rex Ryan. That fat, white guy who always wheres the black Jets cap, and is always loud mouthing everybody. Always yelling, they guy who thinks he can play the game, let alone coach. Well he came out with this statement today.
"If you think you are, no matter what you have accomplished this season, are going to come into our home, and beat our guys, on any down, on our turf, in front of our fans, you need to get your head examined. You think I'm going to allow these fans to go home mad that their team loss? Do you think I worry about losing these games? I know we are not going to lose, we have MVP Shonn Greene running the ball, we have 3 of the best receivers catching the ball, we have future star Mark Sanchez leading us, and then we have our D. Calvin Pace, Darrell Revis, ERIC SMITH, Brodney Pool, Shaun Ellis, Kyle Wilson, Antonio Cromartie, Bart Scott, David Harris, Jim Leonard, Kris Jenkins and the rest of our defensive guys are not going to allow you to win. We know the playoff atmosphere, we know that it's normally high scoring, tough, and all earned yards on that field, and we are ready to earn them. If you do not respect the Jets now, you will when you see us holding OUR Lombardi Trophy up high in Dallas, Texas this February. I don't mean to be cocky, but if you don't have your money on us, who do you have it on?"
REX RYAN IS CRAZY, BUT HE DAMN SURE IS RIGHT!
Jets finish last three games of the season 2-1.
After losing to the Steelers 13031 at Heinz field on a very rainy day, the New York Jets and Rex Ryan took out their fustrations on the Bears and Bills. Beating both teams by a combined 95 points; and shutting the Bills out 56-0. Jets go into the playoffs with not just Home Field Advantage, but high hopes, and lifted spirits. They know, this is their year.
Jets Own Dolphins 70-0
The horrible season for the 4-8 Dolphins just got a little worst after being decimated by the Jets and our Defense and not even putting up a single point in a 70 point shutout. Courtesy of the New York Jets defense and our fans. The Dolphins came into our stadium expecting to not only win this game, but take our winning streak away, they expected to start a little streak of their own, but it looks like the Jets were not having it. It if was not our stifling D, or our uncontrollable offense, LOOK guys, I don't know where to start. We beat the holy hell out of them, and this division is ours!! I'm happy to take the AFC East Trophy back home to New York, where it has not been in a long time. Great Game guys, you guys deserve this, both teams deserve this. Expecially the Dolphins who said we deserve a Ass kicking this weekend, and they were going to serve it to us. HA, even if we did deserve it, you were not to give it to us.
And here we go again.

#4 Ohio State Week 14 |

#2 Penn State Week 3 |

#3 Tigers week 1 |

#1 Bama Week 2 |
Owls start this season off #32 in the nation and again, with something to prove. Last years Fiesta Bowl winners are still not getting the respect they deserve from the polls, but they surely have the chance to earn it. They face the top 3 teams in the nation all in a row from week 1 to week 3. Week 1's game of the week is between the PGCC Owls and the #3 LSU Tigers. After that they play last years BCS Champs Alabama, and then they go to Pennsylvania to play the Penn State Nittany Lions. Talk about a tough schedule; finally they start SunBelt conference play against our weak conference, then week 14 they go to Ohio to play the Ohio State Buckeyes. That means this season, the Owls have the chance to knock off every dominate team, and shake up the BCS title game, without even being in the hunt for the title. The top 4 teams in the country have to prove their dominance by playing the best up and coming team, the Prince Georges Community College Owls. Will the Owls have enough to take on Alabama, LSU, Penn State, and Ohio State?
D line takes a huge blow with Olson and Hobbs Leaving
Starting Defensive Lineman Mike Olson and Edwin Hobbs, are leaving school for graduation. They will always share the memories of being an Owl, and hopefully whatever they choose to do in life, they succeed, the same way they succeeded on the football field.
Marquardt Caps off Awesome Season with Lombardi Award
![]() | |
This award is for the most outstanding college Defensive Lineman |
With 34 tackles, 27 for losses, 15 assisted tackles, 17.0 Sacks, and 4 forced fumbles, Ike Marquardt rightfully deserved the Lombardi Award. His consistant pressure made him one of the most feared lineman in SunBelt history, if not the most feared. His school record setting 17 sacks is an indication that this guy means business. He brings leadership, honor, and skill to the line of scrimmage, and his play encourages the best out of the people who line beside him. I am honored to name Ike Marquardt, the 2011 Lombardi award winner.
#2
Owls finish #2 in the polls, which just caps off the excitement of another impressive year. Great job guys, great undefeated season, and I'm happy we finished so strong. Can't wait to see our team next year. GO OWLS!
We also finished this season with a few All-Americans. Our only 1 All-American award goes to Left End I.Marquardt, who set the new team season record for most sacks in a year, with 17.0. He also won the 2011 Lombardi Trophy, which acknowledges the best defensive lineman.
According to the All-Sun Belt, we had 14 First team All-Americans and 7 2nd-Team All Americans.

Crown 'Em 31-3
Although Alabama was a lot more talented on paper than the Broncos and a lot more expierenced in big games they were still the underdogs. Just as Boise State was last year against Ohio State. This years "Underdogs" The Crimson Tide had another plan for the Broncos of Boise State. That plan was to send them back to the Smurf turn, not only without a BCS championship, but heartbroken. Welcome to the big leagues Boise, you guys just got whipped on national TV, and I couldn't be more proud.
BCS Title game have #1 Alabama vs Repeat #2 Boise State
Last years champs Boise Sate plan to repeat another title against what everybody says who should have been their opponent last year, the Crimson Tide of Alabama. The Broncos come into this game a favorite, because of their will to win, and their nature of blowing teams out. But will they be able to blow out powerhouse Alabama, and take home their 2nd consecutive BCS Title?
#4 Owls Decimate #10 OU in Fiesta Bowl 31-3
Just last week the 11-2 OU squad pointed out why the Owls don't deserve to be in a meaningful bowl game, why the Owls don't deserve to be ranked, and why they would silence us once and for all. The Big 12 Champs came to the game loaded, with a much more physical defense, and a high powered offense. But on Jan 1, 2012, that would all change, when they met the Owls of PGCC who rightfully prove they deserve to be in this league. At the end of the 1st half it was 28-3 and it looked like OU was going to be put in their place. B.Burch and led his team to victory again, in another hard fought bowl game. Just last week the nation did now know who the Owls were, now we are one of the most feared team in the nation. Maybe next year, will be the year, for a BCS championship, not just for the pride of the Owls, but for the pride of the SunBelt conference, to finally prove, we belong here.
This game proved to be very surprising, with it being a defensive onslaught. Neither team could run, pass, and both teams were going 3 and out in quick fashion. There were a total of 7 offensive drives in the 3rd quarter by both teams combined, and no points. After the first half, I thought our guys would continue the defensive pressure which they did, but they just could not turn that into any points. Also what amazed me, that R.Sowell played this game, he came in the game doubtful that he would play with his strained back. He came in and did make a few plays, and got a key first down reception in the 2nd quarter. Or the will of D.Barry out star LOLB who played today with a dislocated elbow. Both of our injured stars played today, hurt, knowing what was on the line. The chance to transform their school, into something bigger. A DYNASTY.

#16 PGCC defeat impressive FAU squad 45-24
This game was pretty close in the early running, but when your Quarterback has to throw 50 times, 80% of the time you are not going to win the game. That was the status for FAU QB D.Burns who threw 50 times, completing 30 of them for 358 yards 2 TD's and a pick. 50 attempts passing and only 28 rushing yards to show for your team is not very good, and that is why the Owls of FAU lost this game. Or they lost because they could not stop start receiver J.Bryant who had an amazing day, catching 9 passes for 199 yard and 3 TD's. Or how about backup runningback R.Denman, who carried the load for our team with 26 Att 151 yards and 3 TD's. Very impressive, and we are going to need him to keep it up to keep us ranked, at least until we get Sowell at the end of the season.

#20 Owls put North Texas in it's place 28-0
Wow, utter dominance by our guys, again. We dominated the mean green, and they did not look so mean. We went into their home, and crushed them guys, we had their fans crying no more, and their coaches calling unfair play. It was not unfair that we are just better than you guys. 28-0 Nothing is your final score, and we are still undefeated, I loved the Rex Ryan gameplay we showed today. Run hard, hold the ball, and don't allow the other team to move the ball on offense.

Owls take this one 23-3
Owls take this victory after losing R.Sowell, All Star Runningback until what has been confirmed bowl season, but the Owls still take this victory in commanding fashion. The Owls also depended on R.Denman, former starting runningback who was injured for the season last year to take the load for us, and he delivered. Denman had a pretty mediocre day with 20 Att 95 Yards and no touchdowns. Great win for us, the Miners really did not stand a chance, great victory, and we continue to be ranked, as the season goes on.

OWLS ACHIEVE TOP 25 RANKING
The polls have spoken and they name the Owls #25 in this weeks poll, as they continue their rein of dominance on every opponent they face. It's the first ranking in school history, and the first rank team to come out the Sun Belt in over 20 Years. Coach Arthur Daniels had these statements: "Happy to be ranked, finally, but we now know that we are going to get every teams best. I will tell you guys, like I told our team, we have to continue this type of play, NO, we have to increase our type of play, we have to get better and stay better, so we can win and stay undefeated. It's going to be a tough task, but our boys are up for it. I know it.

(Week 7 Post)Owls Run to Victory 42-21
Good News. The Owls ran Midd Tenn State fans out of the stadium with their dominating performance on the ground by runningbacks R.Sowell, and R.Denman. Both kids putting up 100+ yards, Sowell putting up 200+ yards on the ground. It seemed these guys were unstoppable, and that's what they were, with averages of 10.2 and 15.7. Those are gaudy numbers to put up on any defense. Oh, and R.Denman, last years starting runningback, set a NCAA record with the longest rush, of 95 Yards on a sloppy Blue Raider defense. Huge victory for our guys, as we continue our undefeated season 7-0. Great win guys, and Great job O-Line.
Now, onto the bad news, we lost starting All-American Runningback R.Sowell for 10 weeks with a back strain. It came in the 4th quarter after Sowell had just been previously injured on a kick return, where he said he felt a "tingle" go up his spine but nothing more. When the trainers carried him off the field, he was in lots of pain and said he never subsided till he laid down. He is done for 10 weeks, maybe that is just a code-name for the season. He left it all on the field today, and I am saddened that he was not able to fly back home with the boys, and he will stay in a Tennessee hospital at least for 2 to 3 more days. Surgery is not needed for this injury, but lots of rest, and back rehabilitation is for Sowell to return to the team. Hopefully he returns in good health, ready to run the ball fast, and consistently. No offense to Denman, but Sowell is our Running Game.

FIU dismantaled at home 45-14
The Owls didn't have their greatest game of the season against the FIU Panthers, but they sure did have a good one. Our defense is really starting to dig in a make lots of plays against our weak conference. Hopefully our conference opponents will improve so we will start getting some national exposure. But this game was about the runningbacks, and the defense, both runningbacks Sowell and Denman put up 2 TD carries and our defense was just scary. Our O-line also set the tone with punishing blocks and pancake blocks witch made stopping the run sometimes, seem obsolete. I mean, what about the effort from DE E.Hobbs, who had 7 tackles, 3 of them being sacks. That is amazing, congrats to the kid on the great day, and hopefully he will be influential addition to our defense. Joining Olson and Marquardt on the defensive line, making it a nightmare for opposing QB's. Each one of our defensive lineman made great plays today, if it was not Hobbs 3 sacks or Blalock's 46 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown, our defensive line today was crazy good. Hopefully they will carry us through the season and keep opposing offenses off the scoreboard while our guys on offense continue to dismantle defensive secondaries.

Who are the Owls?
The Owls are undefeated so far this season, and catching a lot of national attention from poll voters, and it has the Owls receiving 4th most in top 25 poll votes. Is it going to be a reality? Will the Owls be ranked come bowl season? If they keep playing this dominating football they are playing now, many poll experts say in due time, they will not only be in the top 25, but on their way to their first undefeated season.
Burch Torches Troy D 42-7
WOW! Troy, of all teams in the SunBelt, got destroyed by a much stronger, faster, and talented Owls team. We destroyed these guys, Troy used to be the best team in the SunBelt, but that was until the Owls joined the conference last year. Troy has fallen off course, and seems like it's going to take a while for them to get back on their feet and win their games in a row. Owls dominate this one, and take home another SunBelt victory.

ULM a no-sho in 24-3 Defeat.
ULM scores first off a A.Davis FG but thats it, the Owls score the next 24 points and put yet another Sunbelt conference opponent away quietly. ULM just did not stand a chance, after that opening drive, the could not run, they could not pass, and they barely got pass the 50 yard line on their next drives. Just to sum this game all up, it was Owls all day, who were playing pretty conservetly to show sportsmanship I guess. Who knows, they could have went all out and tripled the amount of points the put up on the War Hawks. But they didn't.

Owls Own the 2nd Again 52-14
After putting up 35 in the second quarter against WVU last week, the Owls follow up another great 2nd quarter by putting up 28 on the Rajin' Cajuns of University of Lafayette, in their SunBelt opener. The owls passing game set the tone again with another great performance from Ben Burch, who has really set the tone this season with his pin point accuracy, and gutsy play style. Week after week he decimates secondaries by taking chances that normal quarterbacks wont take at any level. I see awards coming this kids way if the rest of the defenses this season do not find a way to stop him, and I don't see that happening anytime soon. Ben Burch set team records in passing last season, and he looks to be on his way of shattering both his Passing TD record of 28 in a season and his passing yards in a season of 3,695.
There is also no real starter at Runningback, normally Denman gets the start, then Sowell finishes the game, but of course sooner or later our coaches will smarten up, and put our All-American runingback in the starting position so he can make All-American plays.

Can you believe a team from the SunBelt even had to the chance to play WVU, and to make it even worse, win? But those unbelievble Owls from Largo, Maryland have done it again. They took down probably their toughest foe yet, after a unstoppable 2nd quarter. In just one quarter they put up 5 Td's, 3 coming in 2 minutes, two coming in 11 seconds. After 3 early quarter TD passes from Ben Burch to J. Barclay, B. Larkin, and J.Bryant, Ray Sowell scored off of 2 defensive turnovers and ran in two rushing TD's in less that 11 seconds.
The now 2-0 Owls totally dominated the first half and proved that they not only deserve to be in NCAA, but they are not going anywhere anytime soon. Remember guys, undefeated makes us rank says Poll Experts. So lets keep winning Owls.

Owls Start Seaon off on right foot. 52-20
The Owls and B.Burch started fast and decimated a low level Rice Owls squad who did not fair up to good. This is also the first game back of former starting running back R. Denman who ran for 18 Car 73 Yards and 2 TD's. But the big news was about starting QB and field general Ben Burch. Who threw for an astounding 452 Yards with 4 TD's. Just to add fuel to the fire, J. Bryant, Ben's new favorite target caught 8 passes for 164 yards and 2 TD's.

Season Begins
Owls begin another season after a very good first season. Owls open this season vs Rice then they go to West Virginia, to take on the Mountaneers which should be a team goal going into this season.Owls have another lack luster season in opponents, a lot of teams who do not fair up well against anybody, so I expect them to again take home the Sun Belt title, and get back in Bowl Territory.

Unbelievable- Broncos Win first BCS Title 41-21
Who saw this coming? The Broncos defeating the Buckeyes by such a large victory, the Broncos were 35 point underdogs coming into this game, and they won! This proves to never count any out in the NCAA. Great game by Ohio State, but a even better showing by the Champs, Boise State. As they are crown the 2010 BCS Champions, Great job Boise.
Owls end their season with a dominating effort 49-24
Well it was 28-0 at the end of the 1st, so the game really was over at halftime, I mean, East Carolina made some great plays in the 3rd and 4th quarters, but it was not enough to come back from the onslaught they they faced in the first quarter. Our guys dominated, and took home this bowl win in impressive fashion, and I cannot wait until next season starts. It has been a great ride so far, and hopefully we can carry that onto the 2011 season. Have a safe offseason, and we will see you in September.

Owls Dominating!
Owls are laying a beating to ECU, 28-0 at the end of the 1st quarter!! This game looks to be wrapped up, and we have not even hit halftime. Ben Burch is on fire with a passer rating of 239.5, he is 7 of 9, he has 134 yards and 1 TD. He is throwing strikes, and is playing one his best career games. Just to add more fire, he has pass the schools record for passing yards in a season. Our defense, oh yeah they are red hot also with 2 interceptions, with both of them returned, one returned for a 89 yard TD by Sophomore Free Safety Allen Perry, the other 18 yards by Darren Swan. Our guys are playing with guts, furry, and emotion, and so far, guts, furry, and emotion has us up 28-0 against ECU in the New Orleans Bowl, our first bowl appearance in school history.
12-0 Ohio State vs 11-0 Boise State BSC Title Game
It's going to be Heisman Winner's Ryan Young's Buckeyes vs Boise State in this years title game, should be great victory. But some reporters are upset that Florida is not in the title game, and calls this Boise State team very unworthy. That is hard to argue one week after Florida knocked off formally #2 Alabama in their SEC Title game. Florida jumped to #3 in the BCS polls and they will face #10 Texas in the Allstate Sugar Bowl which should be a great game. When it is all said and done, I believe Florida will defeat Texas, Ohio State will defeat Boise State, and next years #1 and #2 will be Ohio State, and Florida, then Florida will be able to prove they deserve to be in the BCS title game.
PGCC VS East Carolina-New Orleans Bowl
The Owls receive their bid to play in a Bowl game, and they will be going up against East Carolina. The Owls, of course are the underdog, but we need this win. Come on guys, practice hard, and carry that practice into the game, with a killers mentality, don' stop until that clock reaches 00:00. Come on!! Lets GO!!!
Ryan Young Takes Heisman.
Ohio States Junior QB Ryan Young, who has lead his Buckeyes to an amazing undefeated season, and BCS Title game, gained one more honor today. With his 537 first place votes and winning the total votes by over 1 thousand, Ryan Young was named, the 2011 Heisman Trophy Winner. 256-407 Attempts 3181 Passing yards 235 CAR 1008 Rushing Yards 42 Total TD were the stats for this kids great year. The only question now is can he use this great boost of confidence and help his Buckeyes defeat who they play in the BCS Title Game?

Owls defeat Troy, Carrie home Sun Belt Championship 35-18
Imagine, joining a school, knowing that you guys have never played a down of football, never practiced a play, never had a fan come to your game, and you were going to enter yourself in the mix of the NCAA and play football. That's what 70 players did when they joined the PGCC Owls about and their journey to NCAA stardom. These kids have overcome tough losses, boo's trash being thrown at them, to take home their first conference title, in their first year in the conference, and in the league. To be title the best of their group of schools should be an honor, and will be cherished forever. On behalf of the Prince Georges Community College Owls, we thank the Sun Belt conference, and all of it's teams, for giving us a chance, to play in the NCAA we thank you guys for letting us get a chance of playing college football. We thank you. We thank you Ben Burch, for being the workhorse that you are. Sure, you are not the best of the QB race by far, but you are one hell of a competitor. We thank you Ray Sowell, for stepping into the starting RB position as a Freshman, and never looking back. We thank you guys, and good luck on your bowl bid, and good luck winning. Thank you PGCC OWLS-SUN BELT CHAMPIONS 2010!

Momentum carries Owls pass Blue Raiders 42-6
Can you believe, 1 minute left in the 3rd quarter that this game was 14-6? Amazing huh? That wasn't until the Owls caught fire and lit up Midd Tenn State for a couple of huge plays. In just 18 seconds the Owls scored off of 3 Blue Raider turnovers starting with one 44 Yard TD pass from Burch to O'Brien to take a 21-6 lead, then on the kickoff the Blue Raiders fumble the ball and the Owls get it at the 22, but because of a facemask they get 15 plus yards, and start their drive at the 7. Wasting no time, the Owls attack the enzone and put up 7 more points on the Raiders making it 28-0. Then to start the 4th quarter the Owls once again nail the returner and return the fumble for 22 yards for the defensive TD. It's now 35-6 in a game that looked like it was going to come down to the wire. The Owls score their final TD on a T.Schneider run, but wow what a turn of events, to be nearing the end of the 3rd with a 8 point lead, and then to just blow away your opponent. It proves again, that in just 1 second, you could be going from winning to being embarrassed by your opponent in college football if you don't keep your focus. In any sport really, no focus, no win and Middle Tennessee State found that out the hard way today.

Red Hot Owls Burn Akansas State 38-14
Both our guys Ben Burch and Ray Sowell were on fire today, and led the Owls to an impressive victory over Arkansas State. It seemed like it was going to be a barn burner going into the 2nd half up 17-14. But that was just not to be. Our defense, who has been the focal point of our last 4 games stepped up once again, to make great plays, and finally put away the RedWolves late in the 3rd quarter. The running game gashed the RedWolfe D on many occasions and our passing offense, was just unstoppable. Great victory for us, and this 7-3 record has brightened our bowl hopes. Hopefully our guys can finish off our last 2 games with wins, and take the Sun Belt Title into bowl weekend, and win whatever bowl we get invited to.

Owls Drop FAU like a bad habit 45-0
DEFENSE!! These last 3 weeks have all been about the big D. So many 3 and outs this game I could not even keep up. I don't think the Owls of FAU had the ball for 15 minutes this game. That's a shame to be shut out so badly by our guys. I mean, I'm not saying our guys are good, but our defense needs work if we want to make it to the next level in our game. Great job guys on D, defense wins championships, and when our defense is able to the control the game like they have been doing the last 3 games, we have got be bowl bound. Great effort on part of the coaches, players, training staff, and the fans. This one, was for the fans.

After falling 14-0 Owls rally after 49 straight points 49-21
Owls started their second straight game very slow and out of sync. But they got over that slump once again by dominating the rest of the game. After 3 straight turnover ending drives the Owls looked doomed. Down 14-0 the Owls knew they were going to have to make a quick change, we even saw backup QB Robert Hurd warming up on the sideline. Thanks to some great defensive play, the Owls got back in the game, took the lead, and never looked back. Scoring a whopping 49 straight points on a Mean Green defense, who didn't look so mean. I'm telling you, when our kids are motivated, they can make some very amazing plays. Especially the 77 yard fumble return for a touchdown by Cornerback Andrew Dahl. Great job guys, in the nasty weather, and I am satisfied at 5-3. I mean we are a first year school who is 5-3, now if we want to be bowl eligible, we need to win the rest of our games, but good job so far guys.

Owls Dominate Conference Opponnent ULL 35-0
The PGCC Owls got sputtered out a few times early in this game, but they still had enough in the tank to dominate the Ragin' Cajuns of Lafayette. I mean the Ragin' Cajuns didn't even looked like they stood a chance when they came out of the tunnel for before the opening kickoff. Yes! it was that bad. Great game played by the Owls, no turnovers, and we are seeing for our own eyes, that Ben Burch is maturing as a young quarterback. Great day on the ground today by Sowell, he rushed for over 150 yards and 4 TD's. Also a superb effort today by our defense, bending but not breaking as they shut out the opposing offense, who couldn't even put up a field goal.

Already?
The Jets enter week 14 with a division rivalry game with Miami, but that's not really what they are so excited about. It's the fact they have clinched their division title already, in a division that seamed to be one of the best this year. Great job Jets, but lets still pound Miami, in the snow!
Meet Revis Island and The New York Jet D 56-45

5-7, and 0-2 record vs your toughest division rival. Suck on that Pats Fans, because the Jets just dominated you guys this season. And to put the icing on the cake, how aobut 5 Interceptions in one game by our fearless defensive onslaught. Rex Ryan finally released the beast, named Darrelle Revis, oh and he had a spectacular day, 5 Tackles, 2 INT's and 2 Defensive TD. Oh and how about this, Tom Brady threw 5 interceptions today, the New York Jets Defense, return 5 interceptions today for touchdowns. Credit Revis for 2, Cromartie for 1, Brodney Pool for 1, and Calvin Pace for 1. How about that Tom Brady, good luck getting to the playoffs as the Jets of New York just put your guys season in the playoff body bag.

Sanchez joins an Elite List. 42-28

Mark Sanchez deep, TD!! Mark Sanchez right side, TD!! Mark Sanchez left TD, Mark Sanchez down the Middle, TD!!! That's all it seemed the broadcasters had to say about the Mark Sanchez and his game vs the Bengals. He lit up the Bengals secondary for a astonishing 5 TD and Franchise best 499 Yards, which made him top 10 in Passing Yards in a game in NFL history.
The Jets top threats on offense, our big game receivers are going to haunt the dreams of the Bengals defenders all season long. Just read these stats from our #1, #2, and #3 receiving corp, and tell me if you would not be scared.
#1 Jericho Cotchery 4 REC 150 Yards 37.4 AVG 2 TD
#2 Braylon Edwards 4 REC 109 27.2 AVG 1 TD
#3 Santonio Holmes 5 REC 121 Yards 24.2 AVG 2 TD
WOW!! That's amazing, this was the first game Santonio Holmes became a full time slot receiver, and if you have been watching Santonio games, you knew he deserved to be a #1 or #2 guy. But Holmes did not hold his head, he just kept his head up, and did his job, and his job is to make plays.
*Interview with WR Santonio Holmes*
*Reporter*- Santonio, what did you feel being downgraded to the slot receiver after starting all season?
*Holmes*- Downgrade? That is what you called a downgrade? No, it's called strategy. Now Rex Ryan may be a defensive guy, but he is also a strategist and I knew he was just cooking up something in the mix. Our job as receivers on this team, is to make Mark Sanchez feel comfortable. Me, Braylon, Jericho and Dustin Keller, know that we have a young QB, who has lots of potential, and we know sooner or later, he is going to take control of the games, and win them for us, but until that day gets here, we need to do all we can to make sure he is comfortable, and that we are catching the ball, and holding on to after the catch.
*Reporter*- Would you enjoy becoming the full time slot receiver in the future?
*Holmes*- Hey, if we are going to win like this why not? I mean, I know what type of receiver I am, Braylon knows what type of receiver he is, and Jericho knows what type of receiver he is, there should be no problem none of us could make plays. As long as we three receivers are on the field, especially at the same time, you cant stop us. And we are going to prove that, like we did today.
Those are confident words coming from Holmes in that interview, but who could blame him. His team is leading the AFC in wins, if the season ended today, they would have Home Field Advantage, a bye week in the playoffs, and they would look like a Super Bowl Favorite. The playoffs are a long way from now, but I like the Jets chances already, besides The Packers, the Jets to me can beat anybody. And if we get another chance at the Pack, with Sanchez's experience, we are going to destroy them.
A showdown in Houston 42-38
The Jets and the Texans of Houston were set to do battle today, and boy what a game it was. The two Qb's Mark Sanchez and Matt Shaub combined put up a whopping 733 yards 8 Td's and 5 INT's. The two field generals had points to prove, and they proved them. Both finding their big game receivers in stride, making plays, and commanding their very good teams.
Both Quarterbacks found their big targets all game long, especially Jets big game Tight End Dustin Keller. 10 Rec 224 Yards 22.4 AVG and 2 TD just explains the day for the big guy. It's going to take a lot to stop Mark Sanchez when you now know he has a tight end like this who can make these type of plays. Sames goes for Andre Johnson who burned Jets CB's for 6 Rec 141 yards, 23.5 AVG and 2 Td's. These two playmakers were constantly in big situations making plays.
But there was no bigger play than Dustin Keller's CLUTCH 60 yard reception for a score and the lead with just 0:48 seconds left in the game. After the game Dustin said,"I ran as fast as I could off the line and down the middle hoping to get some of the pressure taken off of Santonio Holmes, who was the main receiver, and I just looked back, and saw Mark getting blitzed; and the guy rushing him was the guy who I thought I would have to beat, and luckily it was. I waved, Mark threw, and all I know I heard Santonio in my left ear, screaming, GO GO GO GO...!!" Dustin was ecstatic after the 4 point victory, and called it, "The best football game he has ever been apart of."

Folk Comes Through 31-28

If you tuned into the Jets-Browns game, you would have saw one of the most calmest, routine game winning kicks in NFL history. Nick Folk, who has been struggling all season may have shut the mouth of some doubters. Rex Ryan believes, the special teams unit believes, and I think us Jet fans now believe, we can win with Nick Folk. The game winning kick to send the Browns fans home unhappy is just the start to this guys career in New York. What about Mark Sanchez? Putting together that great drive and finding receiver after receiver in the clutches moments of the game. Good game on both teams parts, but I'm happy to see our guys get the victory. I give a game ball to Kicker Nick Folk. Job well done.
On another note, Former Jets Coach Eric Mangini, must of thought he was going to pull a fast one on his former team. His team was really feeling it today, and they played hard for their old ball coach, but our Offense did not quit, they held in there, drive after drive, and kept themselves in the game, following another horrible Defensive outing, and a day in which Rex Ryan said, change is sure to come. I think you waited to long Rex, but that's ok, because late is better than never. Good Job Guys, great job Nick Folk.

Imagine coming from the field, getting ready to talk to your head coach, knowing you just lost to the LIONS. The worst team of this decade!! That would have been hard to swallow, but our guys pulled through. Now I know some people will say, oh this was the Lions and we barely won, this win does not count. Listen folks, every win in the NFL counts. Our Defense, is horrible, they could not even stop Rookie Running Sensation Jahvid Best, who racked up 204 Yards on 22 carries with a 9.2 AVG! and 2 TD. 9.2? Wow that's almost a first down each carry. Our linebackers looked sluggish, our safeties looked bad, and our D-line was just a non factor. Ugly game on D, yet again! But this time, Mark Sanchez got us through this one, 92.1 QB rating 18-31 350 yards 58 Comp% 2 TD and 2 picks. Hopefully this will be the spark that he needs to get going, and he better thank his two new favorite targets, Braylon Edwards, and Dustin Keller. Tough win in Detroit, but we did it, and it feels good to be back on the winning end of things.

OUCH!!!

Jets lose sensational Free Safety Eric Smith for 8 weeks with a Broken Forearm. This is really going to hut us, you know why? Smith leads our team in INT's, he's like top 3 in tackles, and he poses a threat to all QB's, he has really been playing hard and has really shown up.
15 Tackles 4 Int's, this guy has exceeded all expectations. Smith has interception total is 4, that is tied with his career interception total. He has really picked up the slot receivers and tight ends very good this season. We have a solid backup in Brodney Pool, but I like Smith a lot more. He is a Defensive Back of the year runner up, a pro-bowl hopeful, and a tough guy. But he is going to have to sit out for a while and just return with the same intensity that he had throughout the season. Eric Smith will be missed, but I think this is the opportunity for Antonio Cromartie, to really, really, step his game up and prove the doubters wrong.
Unable to Finish 45-50
Packers squeek away a close one from us, but who could stop Aaron Rodgers? The Packers, who are the first team to beat the Jets this season, just kept the formally 6-0 Jets on their heels all game long. I mean lets just compare the QB's of the game.
Packers- Aaron Rodgers QB Rating 95.5 17-29 317 Yards 58 Comp% 5 TD 3 INT
Jets- Mark Sanchez QB Rating 45/2 9-27 140 Yards 33 Comp% 2 TD 2 INT
We have got to get Mark INVOLVED, or else we are not going to beat the great NFL teams this year, like the Packers. UGH!! Shonn Greene had another great day on the ground, but lets face it. This is a Quarterbacks league now, the quarterback is the one making the big bucks, he is the leader, now Mark, LEAD! Terrible performance on our D's part, and that is supposed to be the most impressive part of our team. C'mon guys, get your heads in the game and cover your man, It's that simple.

Week 7 Bye Week
Jets go into the by week Undefeated, yes that's right, a Perfect 6-0. We have been dominating in the trenches, and the reason Shonn Greene is one of the candidates for MVP is showing it. Our boys are dominating the trenches, but I think if we want to go far, we are going to have to get Mark Sanchez on a roll. Find him some open guys, get him comfortable, and Tampa Bay here we come. Lets go guys, rest up, and get ready for Green Bay, because it's going to be a hard fought game.

Here's one for the Highlight Reel. 66-13
This game was never even close..and It made Shonn Greene a MVP candidate also. He ran all over the Broncos defense, it was so bad, that LT our backup runningback almost reached 100 yards. Both of of star runningbacks did exactly what Rex Ryan wanted them to do since week one, and that's pound the ball every play, and continue to pound and don't let Mark Sanchez throw unless we needed him to. Although it was a great day for the offense, Mark Sanchez probably had his worst passing day of the year, 13-25 184 yards 2 TD and 2 INT's. He also had a passer rating of 69.4, which is by far his lowest of the year. But today was all about the running game 37 Att 277 Yards 7.4 AVG and 5 TD's, was the day for Shonn Greene. WOW!, he almost set the record for TD's in a game, which is 6. LT also had 7 carries 69 yards 9.8 AVG and 1 TD, which is more than the Broncos team combined. In other words, the Jets manhandled the Broncos D.
Speaking of defense, did you see Kris Jenkins today, 3 Fumble Recovers, 1 returned for a TD, or Bryan Thomas 5 tackles, 3 of them being sacks. Our defensive line totally dominated their offensive line all day, and we made a complete mockery of them. Forgot about Revis Island? Well he put up 2 INT's today, and restored his Island capabilities. Total domination for our boys today, bravo to the coaching, they set this all up for us.

Jets and Fans send Favre's Vikes witha L. 35-27
Another notch added to the belt for the "Sanchez to Edwards" combination. But this time it was the whole receiving unit, minus Dustin Keller making plays. Give it up to Ben Hartsock for his 5 Rec 99 Yard game, 1 yard shy of 100, and Santonio Holmes 5 Rec 101 Yard and 1 Td performance. Although most of the praise will go to Braylon Edwards with his 4 Rec 88 Yards, and 3 TDs!
I know who Mark Sanchez's favorite target is when attacking the enzone, and defenses know it also, the Vikes picked off Mark Sanchez twice, two passes that were kind of forced in there by Sanchez intended for Braylon Edwards. Mark Sanchez needs to remember the weapons that Rex Ryan has set him up with, and remember, he does not have to force the ball to one guy.
Jets Get through this one and go 5-0. Very Impressive start to the season. As the Jets prepare for Denver next week to put their undefeated streak on the line in Denver.

Bring on Favre and the Vikes

Week 5's game of the week features Brett Favre, as he takes on his former team the New York Jets. Favre, who maybe is in his last season says, " This game against the Jets is BIG". Their fans are probably mad at me, because of the success that I had with the Vikings, rather than the Jets, and they want to prove that their team is better without Favre, and better with Sanchez." Mark Sanchez also knows what at stake here, their undefeated record, Mark Sanchez had this to say with reporters. "We are 5-0, so you know teams are gunning for us to be the ones to say, we defeated them, and they are undefeated no more. We don't want to make the Vikings the team to be able to say that, actually, we don't want any team earning the right to say that. This is going to be a great game, but I think we will pull through."
The Vikes are coming to New York, so I hope you New York Jets fans, have a loud roar for Favre and the Vikings, lets give him all we got, and send him and the Vikings home packing knowing they could not knock off the undefeated team. Favre who? I rather have Mark Sanchez!
Jets have 2nd Quarter to Remember vs Bills 41-20
After having a close first quarter, going into the second 7-3, it looks like the Jets and Bills were about to have another classic rivalry game match up. Well..that was until Shonn Greene unleashed a massive rushing attack which made Bills fan very unhappy with their team. It seemed every carry he was breaking tackles, and making plays. 3 Td's in the second quart explains the whole story as total dominance.
I was also impressed by the play of Braylon Edwards on his first start this season. 6 receptions, 116 yards and a TD. Braylon was constantly getting open and finding his way down field. There was no stopping the 5 year man out of Michigan. He was clearly the favorite target for Mark Sanchez as they hooked up numerous time on 3rd down and on big plays. After the game Braylon stated that, "This season is still young, and I am proud to be given the chance to make the plays that I did today, but I have plenty more to make if I plan on helping my team return to the AFC championship, and hopefully the Super Bowl." Mark Sanchez commented on Braylon's play today saying it was "Gutsy" and "Spectacular". Can this be the start of a new combo in the NFL? Sanchez to Edwards? Maybe.
